Terms & definitions of literary devices.
*I did not create theses definitions myself. you can find these and any other definitions of the following terms in a dictionary. However, these are my examples.
Hyperbole: a figure of speech in which overstatement or exaggeration occurs.
example- "After this long & stressfull day, i swear i could sleep for a year. "
Metaphor: a figur of speech in which a comparison is made between two unlike things without using "like" or "as".
example- "To most I am nothing but a number, merely a peasant, but in his eyes I am a goddess, a queen."
Simile: a figure of speech which compares to unlike things using "like" or "as".
example- "His skin was like silk sheets to touch"
